Today was all about comfort. I didn't get out of my pajamas all day. I was busy though. I deep cleaned my house, organzied some and got a lot of things done. It was nice not having to get ready. I worked Monday and Tuesday and I work again on Thursday. I haven't worked this much for a long time and so far my shoulders, neck, back and hands are doing okay. The temp agency I signed up with has been calling me a lot so I already have next week filled with three days.
I temped in an office on Monday and I was SO nervous. I probably only slept 3-4 hours the night before. I was worried about making a good impression, being on time, finding my way around the office and understanding their dental software. It all turned out just fine and went very smoothly. In fact, one of the assistants used to work for the dentist I work for and I met a man that survived a crane falling on him. Yes, the crane fell through 4 floors and landed on him. He said his nose was flat against his face after the accident and he pulled it back into place. OUCH! He looks normal and he was the nicest man! It really is a miracle he survived. One of the dentists there even helped me do a dental chart and perio chart with one of the patients. He was the nicest dentist ever! Everyone else was busy at the time so he came to help me. The dental software was the same one I used in dental hygiene school, but it's been several years since then, but I caught on fast and it was fine. I'm glad I work in an office that has computers, digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras and all the up-to-date stuff so I know how to use it when going to different offices. I tend to worry too much so I need to work on that. Since I'll be temping a lot more this next week I hope I don't worry too much and actually get some sleep!
We bought an upright freezer off of Craigslist and I'm excited to get it hooked up. I've been looking for one for over a month and I think we got a great deal. I was even able to talk her down with the price. It was my very first purchase off of Craigslist. Now I need to get things to put in it. Kate will want popsicles since she kept asking for those when we were at my parent's house. Oh the possibilities.

Congrats, I'm glad that the temp agency seems to be able to give you plenty of work. Love deep freezers!
P.S. who do I have to kill to get a copy of your Mom's cookbook?
I am glad this temp agency is working out well for you ... now get some sleep :) !!
Becky always makes me laugh and tonight I needed it. Grumpy night, boo!
How nice to have so much work on the docket. I'm glad the first time you went to a new office it was a good experience. And I'm sure you'll relax a little more each time you take it on. I admire you so much for taking care of what needs to be done. You're awesome Heidi!!!
I forget how fun it is to read the comments to your post! I guess I need to make more copies of the cookbook. If anyone wants one, email me at vicki@smwireless.net and I'll work out a deal! :) How funny....
Popsicles??? You bought a freezer for popsicles? Kate sure is a lucky kidlet. ;)
hey - you sound like me! I worry about everything. you probably already thought of this, but you should have Kyle give you a blessing before the night before so you can SLEEP and be CONFIDENT the next day. You are amazing, though, and as soon as people hear you laugh they will like you wherever you go.
so every time i read your blog i think, I want to visit them in WA! One of these days.... :)
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who can't sleep before working! It will be fun to see you in your element today!
So glad you are working. We got
a used freezer a few months ago and I was amazed at how quickly we filled it! Just moving a few things out of my fridge/freezer so
I could open the door without dropping frozen beef on my foot was great! Have fun filling it up!
Love the upright freezer! There's always plenty of goodies in there. It is so awesome that you have been able to work so much. Just think of it this way, the more offices you work in, the more software you'll get to use and learn. You'll be the Dental Industries Golden Nugget. And yes, Melanie, we laugh AT Becky all the time.
Oh I'm a freezer girl too. So Kyle didn't break it getting it out of the Suburban? I would think you would be teaching him some patience. I couldn't!! Hope you get your package on Saturday. And I hope the kids like their "Valentines!" Am I late or is it still January? Ha
I'm with Becky--where can I get a copy of your Mom's recipe book??
I'm so glad to hear work is going well. You're so good at your job, I know you'll impress everyone!
And congratulations on the freezer! We got one off Craigslist a few years ago (we LOVE Craigslist) and have loved it ever since! May this be the first of many successful purchases off of Craigslist for you. :):)
Oh, the joys of temping! You will have lots of good and a few bad but that will make for some good stories. I am just glad that they have had work for you! That at least is promising! When I was temping alot I found that the days went by really quickly because I had to be so focused on what I was doing. You will learn a lot to take to future employers too. We are in the market for a new freezer too. Justin is buying half a cow from a student. Yes, that is a LOT of meat and we need somewhere to put it.
