My sister-in-law, Melanie, does "Five for Friday's" on her blog and I'm not sure where she got that idea, but I liked it so I decided to do a version of that. :)
1. I love that Costco now has 1% milk, but hate their milk jugs. Bad, bad, bad design. It is way to hard to pour- they need to work on that- but I like their price.
2. I love that Kyle sweeps and mops the floor now that he is Mr. Mom and I laugh when he gets SO concerned when someone spills on his newly mopped floor! It is quite hilarious how concerned he gets. I like that he is more aware of things since he's been cleaning the house. He says "it is hard to keep up with the house". Good experience for him, right?
3. I love that we woke up last Friday and decided to go to my parent's house for the weekend just because. It was a good break. I helped the guys burn tumble weeds and helped my Mom in the garden pruning grapes and raking leaves. I hardly got ready which was nice and Kate and Preston loved playing outside. We also saw Matt & Courtney's new baby (adorable) and Melanie and Milo brought the kidlets down to my parents. It was fun.
4. I love that I got some antibiotics so maybe I can start feeling 100% better. No more sinus congestion, plugged ears, coughing, swollen lymph nodes or sore throat. I've had a combination of these for the last 3 weeks while working. I thought I was getting better then I would get another symptom. Enough already.
5. I love that I have birthday money to go spend. I haven't been shopping much since I've been working (and you can tell a difference with our bank account since Kyle never goes shopping!) so i'm excited to go buy some fun stuff for me.

Birthday Happenings

Preston digging into to find toys.
I made biscuits the other night for dinner and Kate wanted to help. I let her, even though most of the flour ended up on the floor.
Kate was outside blowing bubbles and Preston was watching her out the window. He wanted to go outside so bad, but it was really cold and windy so I let Kate come in and blow bubbles in the house. That only lasted a minute once the floor became a mess with bubbles!Written by Heidi at 4:21 PM 12 Fabulous Comments

{ sickness }
Snow Storm in March??? This was Monday and our front yard is shaded so we still have snow on our lawn, but it's almost all melted. Kate was so excited to play in the snow, but she was sick with a nasty cold/cough so we didn't let her. I totally slipped on the ice today during my lunch break trying to get into my car. I fell and my head hit the car parked next to mine in the parking lot really hard. I thought I had dented the car! I didn't- thank goodness. But I sure had a headache. It reminded me of being in Rexburg at school trying to cautiously walk around campus so I wouldn't fall.
Kate getting ready to paint a masterpiece.
Preston being silly.Kate was the first one to get sick last week and then Preston got sick so we finally broke down and took them to the doctor, remember...no insurance now, bummer. Enjoy your insurance. We actually took them up to this walk-in clinic (during the snow storm) in a city 20 miles away b/c they only charge $39/visit. Well, we get there, check-in and pay. While we were waiting the doctor comes out and asks us how old Preston is. I say he'll be 18 months in a couple weeks. She proceeds to tell me they don't see anyone younger than 18 months. What??? That is crazy! I was really annoyed. What clinic has an age limit? I asked her if she could see him since he will be 18 mo's in a couple weeks, but she said she'll have to stick to the policy. We ended up just getting refunded all our money and left very annoyed. So I called our normal doctor and just made appts for both of the kids that afternoon. Turns out that Kate was fine and just needs to get over her cough. Preston had a fever, ear infection and his lungs didn't sound as clear. He got antibiotics so hopefully he gets better fast. Whenever he gets a cough he ends up coughing and then throwing up so he's lost weight- he doesn't have much weight to lose. Yesterday I woke up sick (sore throat/congestion/cough), but went to work anyway. Good thing I wear mask and gloves. I came home and had the chills and a fever and basically slept until bedtime. Then took medicine and went to bed. I had to work again today so I was praying that I would feel better and this morning I woke up and actually felt a bit better. I have work again tomorrow and then I'm done for the weekend. phew.
One job Kyle applied for had 100 applicants! They are only interviewing the top 6. Man, the market is flooded right now. He's getting quite domesticated though. Even pulled the cookbook out a few times. That's a big milestone for him. :)

Skype
Because of a very persistent brother (ahem...Jeff) I finally hooked up my web camera and downloaded Skype onto my computer. It's been SO fun to chat via live video with Jeff and Sadie, Sara and Grandma Dee Ann. I'm glad I have a persistent brother! Preston saw Sara and Sadie on the computer and held his hands out for them to pick him up- so cute. Kate just loves seeing herself on the computer and waves ALL THE TIME to whoever we are talking to. The best part of the skyping process is that it's FREE. It's great to actually see each other and chit chat. It really is cool so if you can you should hook yourself up with skype. You'll love it.
On other news... I am working about 3 days a week at random offices and it's very interesting to see how other offices work. It's opened my eyes and made me very grateful for the office I've worked in for the last 5 1/2 years. One office I worked at I went in at 10:15 and didn't get off until 8pm!!! Crazy late.
Kyle keeps applying to jobs as he finds them so it's still the waiting game, which is very annoying. He's adapting to being Mr. Mom and I like coming home to dinner (sometimes) and folded laundry. :) He's still anxious to find something soon.
