{ sickness }

Snow Storm in March??? This was Monday and our front yard is shaded so we still have snow on our lawn, but it's almost all melted. Kate was so excited to play in the snow, but she was sick with a nasty cold/cough so we didn't let her. I totally slipped on the ice today during my lunch break trying to get into my car. I fell and my head hit the car parked next to mine in the parking lot really hard. I thought I had dented the car! I didn't- thank goodness. But I sure had a headache. It reminded me of being in Rexburg at school trying to cautiously walk around campus so I wouldn't fall.

Kate getting ready to paint a masterpiece.

Preston being silly.

Kate was the first one to get sick last week and then Preston got sick so we finally broke down and took them to the doctor, remember...no insurance now, bummer. Enjoy your insurance. We actually took them up to this walk-in clinic (during the snow storm) in a city 20 miles away b/c they only charge $39/visit. Well, we get there, check-in and pay. While we were waiting the doctor comes out and asks us how old Preston is. I say he'll be 18 months in a couple weeks. She proceeds to tell me they don't see anyone younger than 18 months. What??? That is crazy! I was really annoyed. What clinic has an age limit? I asked her if she could see him since he will be 18 mo's in a couple weeks, but she said she'll have to stick to the policy. We ended up just getting refunded all our money and left very annoyed. So I called our normal doctor and just made appts for both of the kids that afternoon. Turns out that Kate was fine and just needs to get over her cough. Preston had a fever, ear infection and his lungs didn't sound as clear. He got antibiotics so hopefully he gets better fast. Whenever he gets a cough he ends up coughing and then throwing up so he's lost weight- he doesn't have much weight to lose. Yesterday I woke up sick (sore throat/congestion/cough), but went to work anyway. Good thing I wear mask and gloves. I came home and had the chills and a fever and basically slept until bedtime. Then took medicine and went to bed. I had to work again today so I was praying that I would feel better and this morning I woke up and actually felt a bit better. I have work again tomorrow and then I'm done for the weekend. phew.

One job Kyle applied for had 100 applicants! They are only interviewing the top 6. Man, the market is flooded right now. He's getting quite domesticated though. Even pulled the cookbook out a few times. That's a big milestone for him. :)

Kylonna and I were sick last week--it was horrible!! And as far as the snow goes-----WELCOME TO MY WORLD....LOL! It was 9 degrees this morning when I went out to "warm up my car" 10 minutes before we had to leave. I hate Idaho..wish I was back in Seattle...or better yet...HAWAII!! Hope you guys are all feeling better! :)

I can't believe the clinic wouldn't see you, especially since you came out in the crappy weather. Be sure to let your doctor know you have no insurance.... they have samples of meds, but must admit... the customer service that I have dealt with here in the medical offices is not very good here, not compared to the offices I had been to in SLC,Ut. I even called and complained about the flu shot availability to the central office.... anyway, hope you're better.

Austin had that same thing on Monday - it must be going around. It only lasted one day for him though. That's not fun when you've got full work days ahead of you.

Sorry you guys have been sick. No fun! Glad to hear you have lots of work, but hopefully Kyle will find something soon. I feel like I never get to see you anymore, and playgroup just isn't the same since you don't come. :)

I saw your mom today at the Birthday dinner in Mattawa. It's so good to see you mom and dad and family. I know, we got some snow too. I was not liking it.

I would have been so POed about that walk in clinic! That just doesn't seem right. We've been dealing with runny noses and the like here too. Nothing too bad though. I am with you though. Unless I am on my deathbed, I go to work.

Heidi,
There are options so that your kids are not without insurance, if you need numbers or info, please let me know, I would hate for something more serious to come out and you be without insurance!
