We got our new couch and love seat in the other day. Our old couch was one we bought when we were in college living in Cheney. So we've had it for over 8 years, but we loved it. The new furniture came and I was SO nervous to see the color and to see if I would like them. Choosing the leather color was the biggest deal because I knew we would be stuck with these couches for a while. They unwrapped them and I liked them except they matched our walls (which I knew they would) and it looked like one big tan blob in our room. They are really poofy and Kyle didn't like how it felt when he layed down on them (the one in the store didn't seem as poofy). I had a pit in my stomach- after all that money, did we pick the right color or even the right couch?!
My Mom & Dad and Sara & Derek came over the next day to pick up our old couch (Sara and Derek are taking it) and they loved the furniture. I had forewarned my Mom that we were having buyer's remorse. When my family sat on them they liked them and didn't think they were too poofy and that calmed my nerves a lot. Then I figured I could get long curtains and decorate the walls to break up the tan in the room and add color. I think it will look okay in the end. Kyle and I both have a hard time dealing with change though. Getting new furniture is no different! We wanted our old couch, but in new condition. I told him we needed Jeff and Jared to come visit to flatten the cushions out for us. haha. I'll have to post pictures when I get my new curtains up. I think I'll attempt to make them on my own. yikes.

Can't wait to see pictures. Buyer's remorse is the worst, but you're right... it's probably the change. I'm sure after a week or two they will feel like home. You can always paint the walls. :0)
I've never had a hard time getting used to new furniture! Then again, the stuff we've bought has always been a huge step up from what we had so there is no remorse!
You guys have been on a roll lately. New carpet, new floors, new furniture.
We get buyers remorse all the time. I hate it.
Heidi, I haven't been here in forever and I just got all caught up. I love your family. And you have such a beautiful smile--I'm so glad you jump in the photos every now and then.
So glad things are going well for you.
Yes, such a big purchase and one that really matters. Color is important and especially how they feel when yous it or lay on them. Oh, I could feel your nerves twisting themselves into knots as I read. I'm sure it will be great once you get your curtains and things back up on the walls. How fun!
We've decided that we're building in Pasco...So we'll be buying new couches too. We have one. Yes, just one! And we bought it when we were first married so it is going on eight years too! Yikes! It's showing signs of wear and it isn't that comfortable anymore. Plus, we need a little more seating for when family comes.
We are very excited to be building new though. There's so many new things though. AAAHHH! We can do it!
It is hard to make those changes, but you guys will come to love them and you will soon forget all about your beloved, old comfy couch. Plus, every time I've seen your house, it's absolutely cute. I have no doubt that you will rise to the occasion with cute, homemade curtains and all manner of fabulous decor to make it fabulous.
