Life Now

How's life going? Well let's see...last week Chelsea did not so good during the night the first few days she was home. My mom stayed up with her so I could sleep through the night and my Mom only got a couple hours of sleep one night. Chelsea wasn't crying, but just wouldn't get in a deep sleep and so you couldn't sleep. Then when my Mom left she had another rough night, but then after that she's been much better and sleeping longer stretches at night. Last night she went 6/12 hour stretch and I woke up thinking something was wrong (we've all done that at some point) and I went over to make sure she was breathing. :) She sleeps lots through the day, but is starting to have more awake time too. The kids love her. Kate likes to hold her and feed her. Lindsey likes to kiss her and climb on her. Preston likes to hold her..once in a while. She's a good eater and a good baby so far. It's just always nice when they figure out their days and nights so we can all get some rest. She is 1 1/2 weeks and already passed her birth weight so she's doing good.

Preston finished preschool yesterday and Kate finishes school today. Then it's summer break. I am slightly overwhelmed thinking how I'm going go places while carting around a baby, a busy toddler and a runaway 4 yr old. Preston's not doing summer school so I feel like I need to come up with some social activities or school stuff he can do once in a while. My friend had gotten her daughters a little present (a diary/notebook) for the last day of school. Kate was emotional this morning saying no one cared about her that she was finishing school. Basically, she wanted a present because her friend was getting one and so she didn't feel loved I guess. So what does a good Mom do? Go to Target and buy her a present. ;) I got her a notebook and pens from the dollar section. She will love it. At least I hope so. Then while I was wrapping the present, Preston and Lindsey were eating lunch. I came downstairs a few minutes later to see Lindsey splashing her hands in Preston's spilled milk. Lindsey had spilled it and thrown all her food on the floor. Grrr. She got banished to the high chair while I cleaned it up. Welcome to summer with all the kiddos home!!! We have splash week next week (swim lessons for Kate, just a week long) and Kate's ballet recital. Can't believe it's almost the 4th of July!

It already sounds like a busy summer. I can't believe Preston and Kate have another year of school under their belt. I hope Chelsea keeps her days and nights on schedule cause it always makes for a happier mommy.

Sounds like you're right on track for a crazy, I mean, busy summer. :) The spilled milk and food on the floor did make me laugh...just a little though.

Oh, seasoned mama...don't you know you can't leave milk alone with kids, lol? Haha...oh, my. I wish I still had a high chair...they usually get banned to their rooms so I can clean up the mess...if you come up with any fun summer activities let me know! Goodluck! :)

You will do great. You were fab with 3, 4 will get easy once you are in the routine. Remember the front carrier...
You can always call when you go on an outing and i can come as a helper. I know it doesn't make it easier and it sounds ridiculous.... But sometimes I do miss the spilled milk (only sometimes) and all the other things that go along with being a mom of those amazing, imaginative, learning, curious little minds. You will be great.
